New York City Kids Guide:There are tons of activities to do with children in New York City. Here are a few to get you started. In the Upper West Side Neighborhood on 83rd Street is the Children's Museums of Manhattan. Nearby on 79th Street is the American Museum of Natural History, popular exhibits with children are the Dinosaur exhibits, Blue Wales, and the Rose Space Center. If the weather is nice Central Park has a number of great activities, plenty of room to let them burn off some steam, playgrounds, ball fields, a carousel, skating rinks, and more. On the Upper East Side of the park at East 65th Street is the Central Park Zoo. Located on the West Side of Manhattan on Pier 86 along the Hudson River is the Intrepid Air and Space Museum, Kids will love everything about this place, check out the flight simulators and All Hands on Deck Exhibit. Take them to the Top of the Rock for a great view of the city, or the Empire State Building. During the Holiday Season be sure to visit the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, or take them to see the Radio City Christmas Show. Moving down to the Times Square Area at 44th Street there is a wonderful "Toy R Us Store", there is a 60 ft ferris wheel in the lobby, and a 20 ft high animated T-Rex, and two floors of Barbie. Other area of interest in Times Square: Madam Tussaud's Wax Museum, TRL MTV Studios. There are many shows that Disney depending on the age of your kids may interest you. Popular shows are Lion King, Little Mermaid, and Mary Poppins. There are lots of restaurant choices in this area, from Chains to local Pizza joints and Delis. Towards Herald Square is Madison Square Garden, which has many sporting events. Treat your Kids to a Knicks Basketball Game, or NY Rangers Hockey Game. During Baseball season get tickets for a Yankee Game in the Bronx, or take them to Shea Stadium in Queens for a New York Mets Game. In the Downtown Manhattan Neighborhood you can visit the New York City Fire Museum. The museum houses the country’s most important collections of artifacts and art from the late 18th century to the present. No visit to New York is complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the area is the New York City Police Museum. Kids will love getting their picture taken in a lineup, or seeing what it's like to be behind bars. Next, take them to explore the Maritime Museum of South Street Seaport. If you have time take them to the Brooklyn Children's Museum. Founded in 1899, the Brooklyn Children's Museum was the first museum created just for children. Kid Friendly Hotels New York City:
