Battery Park, including the Castle Clinton National Monument, is the largest open space (25 acres) in Lower Manhattan providing access to New York Harbor. Castle Clinton is the ticketing center for visitors boarding the ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Over four million people visit the park each year which features expansive lawns, shade trees, perennial gardens, waterfront promenades, cultural programs which include open-air concerts.
Battery Park is close to South Street Seaport, the New York Stock Exchange, the Smithsonian's Museum of the American Indian, the Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Staten Island Ferry.
