Things to Do in the Neighborhood:
The West Side of Midtown is where you are surrounded by the massive oversized neon spectacular signs of Times Square. This area is incredibly crowded with people. Walk down Broadway around 42nd Street, to see the sights. This is the famous Broadway Theater District, where you can see one of the many plays and musicals that this area is noted for. Locate a Broadway Theater by clicking on the map above to see more detail. If you are looking for a particular show see What's Shows are Currently Playing.
It's not just shows, stop in at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, or the Massive Toy's R Us Store. There are tons of Restaurants, Shops, and Bars in this area, and there's always a crowd outside of the ABC and MTV Studios. Moving to the West Side is the Javits Center which acts as the main Convention Center for New York City. On 46th Street, at Pier 86, is the site of the Intrepid Air and Space Museum, a favorite of kids. Moving up to Central Park South is World Famous Carnegie Hall. There are a number of Good Places to Stay in the Theater District if you are a tourist and you want to be in the heart of it all. |
